Shooting at mobile home park in unincorporated Springfield leaves one dead

Steven SpearieA 33-year-old Springfield man died from at least one gunshot wound in a shooting at a mobile home park in the in an unincorporated area of Springfield Saturday afternoon.
in an email said the shooting could have been related to an earlier disturbance with multiple individuals in the , near the scene of the shooting.
Campbell confirmed Sunday the shooting took place outside the mobile home at around 2:50 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was transported to HSHS St. John’s Hospital but was pronounced dead by hospital personnel at approximately 3:21 p.m.
The name of the victim has not been released.
said an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
Campbell said officers located the suspect's vehicle, a red Dodge Ram truck, parked in the at around 6 p.m. Saturday. A search did not turn up the suspect at the residence. The truck has been processed, he said.
Detectives talked to a witness present at the residence where the vehicle was located. The person was released after questioning downtown, Campbell said.
Other witnesses also are being interviewed, he added.
