Southeast football coach Michael Kinkade steps down after one season at the helm

Southeast football coach Michael Kinkade announced he is stepping down from the position via social media on Monday. 聽

Kinkade said he is resigning to spend more time with his family. 聽

鈥淎n opportunity came to me where I would be able to be in my own children鈥檚 lives more often, with teaching and coaching, which is something I鈥檇 like to do,鈥 Kinkade posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. 鈥淭his was not an easy decision, but one I made to be more present in my personal life. 聽

鈥淚 wish Southeast Football nothing but success moving forward.鈥澛

The Spartans finished 2-7 this past season in his only season at the helm. He previously served as former head coach Matt Lauber鈥檚 assistant for five seasons. 聽

It comes after Southeast boys basketball coach Lawrence Thomas announced his resignation last week after 16 seasons.聽
